Różnice w preparatach toksyny botulinowej typu A stosowanych w dermatologii estetycznej

Toksyna botulinowa typu A (BTX-A) jest stosowana przez lekarzy w celu redukcji zmarszczek gładzizny czoła i nadmiernej pierwotnej potliwości pach. Takie wskazania zarejestrowano dla preparatu Botox, natomiast Vistabel, Azzalure i Bocouture powinny być stosowane tylko do korekty zmarszczek gładzizny czoła, natomiast Dysport tylko w nadmiernej pierwotnej potliwości pach. Leki te mają podobny mechanizm działania, różnią się jednak jego siłą, a także swoim składem, dyfuzją poza miejsce podania, skutecznością i profilem działań niepożądanych. Są preparatami biologicznie różnymi, niebiorównoważnymi.
Differences in the botulinum toxin A formulations used in the aesthetic dermatology

Botulinum toxin type A (BTX-A) is used by aesthetic dermatology specialists for the temporary improvement in appearance of moderate and severe vertical lines between the eyebrows and for primary hyperhidrosis of the axillae. Currently, only Botox have such indication to use and others commercially available BTX-A preparations: Vistabel, Azzalure and Bocouture should be used only for correction of vertical lines between the eyebrows and Dysport only for primary hyperhidrosis of the axillae. Although they have similar mechanisms of action, their chemical formulation, clinical potency, migration or diffusion as well as safety profile seem to be different. This may result in problems of bioequivalence because each BTX-A formulation should be considered as a different drug.
